This past month our Chief Investment Officer, Glenn Murray, traveled to Hong Kong for the annual CFA Conference. This event is an excellent opportunity to hear from other high caliber Fund Managers and to glean insight from a broad range of industry professionals. This year was again a valuable time of learning and strategizing to reach new investment opportunities.
On this trip Glenn also spent time in Vietnam, performing due diligence and meeting with managers of one of the holdings in our Capstone Non-Traditional Equity Pool. Part of our research process is having monthly calls with sub-managers and meeting with them directly at least once a year. Investing in the non-traditional space is a unique process as reporting can look very different, resulting in our investment management team needing to take a hands-on approach and actively monitor every asset in our non-traditional fund mandates.
A COMPLIANCE AND OPERATIONS UPDATE
Our team has grown again! This month we are pleased to welcome Cory Gaston as Compliance Administrator. Cory comes with vast experience in implementing policies and overseeing procedures and will provide valuable support to the Compliance and Operations team.
